This week has been Spring Break for Samantha. We hadn't done any thing special and I was feeling bad. I always see Moms and kids at the park while I'm running errans for work and I think I should be one of those Moms. Well today it all came together! I took the day off and the kids and I didn't just go to the park.....We went to every park in Taylor and Snowflake. A total of 4 parks. We also went to 2 museums and had lunch at McDonald's. WOW!!! We had a great time. We had so much fun I didn't even thing of all my many project that usually keep us from the park. We'll have to do this more often!!!

Happy Easter

Samantha was up bright and early this morning. She woke every one up to check out their Easter baskets. This was a Lego year. Colin said that he got "awesome Lego's" in his basket. Colin and Patrick are just starting to play with Lego's so they got bags and eggs of the basic bricks. Samantha got some side sets to go with the Lego castle she got for her birthday. Here's a picture of Samantha and Patrick.
Don't the kids look cute all dressed up for church?! I was so excited this year Samantha wore Maddy's (our niece) flower girl dress from our wedding. She insisted on the long sleeves under it and some striped tights to go with. I was just glad she would wear it. She just doesn't like fancy, girlie dresses.
After church we were to my parent's house and had dinner with them and my Grandma Ruth. The kids ended up with so much candy!!! I think every one had a great day.
Happy Easter everyone!!!

Our Easter Picnic

Today we had a pre-Easter picnic with my Mom and Dad and Grandma Ruth. We had a great time. We were by the Silver Creek so the kids got to throw rocks in the creek while we got lunch ready. Grandma Ruth died some eggs and I had some plastic eggs that we hid. The kids had fun eggs hunting. At first the boys had no idea what to do. My poor kids have never been to a real egg hunt. I've heard nothing but bad about the community egg hunt so we've never been. They caught on quick regardless.

St. Colin's Day

Colin finally got to have his day! What could be better than a huge dirt pile to slide on!?! Dale took Colin to McDonald's for his "poo lunch". Poor Colin earned his lunch a long time ago but he finally got to go. I think he had a great day. Happy St. Colin's Day!!!

St. Samantha's Day

Samantha decided that today should be her day. On St. Samantha's Day everyone should wear red and yellow. Good thing I picked a red shirt this morning. Poor Colin, I guess tomorrow will have to be St. Colin's Day. Today was a great day for Samantha to pick because this afternoon she lost her first tooth. Happy St. Samantha's Day everyone!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Samantha with "pots of gold" for her class
Colin, Patrick, and Samantha in green.

Samantha's leprechaun trap.
Patrick couldn't have been happier to find out that he has a day. He even agreed to wear a green shirt and not his monster truck shirt he's still wearing every day. (He only made it until 3:00 in his green shirt.) Samantha and I made "pots of gold" out of jello for her class. After school we went to a birthday lunch at McDonald's. When we got home she made a leprechaun trap. Unfortunately she didn't catch any thing. Samantha and Colin are hoping their days come soon.

Samanth's Prestigious Award

This morning Samantha received her second Outstanding Citizenship Award (for best effort in schoolwork, being courteous, & obeying the rules). She and several other students received this award at an assembly. After the assembly each student got their picture taken with their family. Samantha also got a certificate for a free taco, burrito, or tostada and a small drink from Taco Bell because this is her second time for this award. Too bad she couldn't have gotten this last week so she could have had Grandma Connie and Grandpa Don there too. I have to laugh when she gets this award, she brings home a letter telling us she will be receiving it and that it's a prestigious award. I never expected my kindergartener to be receiving pretigious awards.
Today was also Parent/Teacher conference. No surprise, she's doing very well and her teachers adore her. We know she a great kid and we adore her too. Keep up the good work Samantha!!

Patrick's Favorite Shirt

Patrick has been wearing this shirt every day for at least the last two weeks!! He has a complete melt down if her can't wear his "monster truck" shirt. I have wash it after he goes to sleep so at least it's clean.

Death Questions

After Grandma Rencher's funeral the boys were full of death questions. Why is Grandma Rencher in that box? Why are they going to put that box in the ground? Why do our bodies get old and tiered? Did Grandma Rencher die because she was number 3? (I think he was trying to ask if she died because she was 93.) Why is Grandma Rencher with Heavenly Father? They asked questions for hours. I thought it was funny when Colin said, " Grandma Rencher's been asleep for 2 hours when is she going to wake up!" I guess death is just a hard thing to understand.
