One Fun Weekend

We met Dale's sister Heather, her husband Jason and their dog Holly and went camping. The kids were soooooo excited.

Colin picked this pretty purple flower for me right when we stopped. I loved it and wish I knew what kind it was so I could have some in my garden.

I was glad it stopped raining just long enough to set up the tents and start a fire. It rained most of the night.

The next morning Heather and I took the kids on a hike. We saw a forest of ferns.

Two cute boys on a stump.

A cute girl by a crazy rock

A wood cattle guard (behind the kids) and a crazy log troth (on the right) full of water.

After breakfast we all went to a hummingbird thing. We got there kind of late, were about the youngest people there, and didn't see too many hummingbirds. We did get to see this Burrowing Owl and some hawks from the Game and Fish Dept.

While we were looking at this owl it coughed up a pellet. The lady holding it was freaking out because that's super rare to see. She said she's been working with the owls for about 15 years and she's only seen that once before. She took the pellet apart (the stuff on the table in front of the owl) and showed us the bones and teeth from the mouse it had had for dinner.

Pioneer Day

This weekend we went to the Pioneer day parade.
As usual it was long and hot but a lot of fun.
Samantha is a pro at running out and getting candy. Colin, on the other hand, would hardly get out of his seat. Patrick was somewhere in the middle. They all ended up with a good amount of candy.

Here are some of the highlights.....

Here are 6 of my Cub Scouts. They and 2 Boy Scouts from our ward were the only scouts from our district.

After the parade it was so hot we had to fill up the stock tank.

???????????

The other day Patrick was trying to cut out a heart all by himself.
He unfolded his paper and gave a disappointed look.
Then he got a happy smile on his face and said,
"I made this for you Mom it's.......

BRAS"!!
He got out the hole punch and the yarn and fixed me up.
Everyday he asks me if I'm wearing the bra he made me.
I finally had to tell him it doesn't fit. Too bad.
Thanks anyway Patrick!!!!

And I'm Thankful For Fireworks

That's what Patrick said in his prayers after watching the

4th of July fireworks at Grandma Ruth's house.

Swimming Lessons

The kids just finished up 2 weeks of swimming lessons.

Nice goggles Samantha.

They all had so much fun. Last year all the preschool classes were full so the boys didn't get lessons. They were soooo sad that they had too sit and watch Samantha. I think that made them extra excited to get in the pool this year.

Here's Samantha with her friend Caleb. She told me that everyone looks funny when they're wearing goggles except for Caleb, he looks awesome.
I wish I had a picture of Colin ("My Sweet Little Guy") pushing his friend Emily into the pool.
The only shot that would have been better would have been Emily's face when she came up out of the water. Sorry Emily!!

Dot's Date

Dot has a new boyfriend named Harley. She's been at his house in Show Low all day.

The kids and I went to pick her up this evening but Harley's Dad thought it would be best if she stayed. I think she was sad when we left. The kids were sad too but they saw how much fun the dogs were having while we were there so they soon got over it.

I really hope she isn't too sad tonight. I hope they get down to business soon so she can come home.

Harley dancing with Samantha.

He wouldn't sit still for a good picture.
